roz's shoe challenge

I have to wear every shoe in my closet, without repeat. Normally one shoe a day, sometimes more.

I decided to do the challenge as it highlights the strengths and weaknesses in my collection. It also forces me to be more creative with my looks, particularly towards the end of the challenge and I have fewer to choose from.

I have 180 shoes. The pictures I post are from websites like Netaporter, I do not post real pics of the shoes as they have been stolen before and used on eBay to sell fakes. Sorry.
Day 54, shoe 66: Charlotte Olympia Bowie in black/leopard stripe
These were a present from my wonderful boyfriend, and one of three pairs in this style I have. Like all my Charlotte Olympias these are vertiginous but extremely comfortable. The black and leopard pattern looks fantastic with an otherwise all-black outfit.

Day 53, shoe 65: Jimmy Choo Vivienne sandals in brown
I love this kind of shoe, where at first glance it looks cluttered, but everything works so well in perfect synergy. Jimmy Choo’s last season seemed to feature a lot of HIGH heels. They’re normally pretty conservative with the height of their shoes, but these are a lot higher than I am used to. They were pretty expensive, and I’d stop short of saying they’re value for money, but they ARE amazing, and were one of my purchases from Dubai when I visited a few months ago.

Day 52, shoe 64: Camilla Skovgaard panelled sandals
Yes, flats! You would not believe how fussy I am with flat shoes, but when I fall in love I fall in love. These are a bit fancier than I’d normally go for - I normally go for simple ballerina flats or embellished sandals, but these are a bit different, but still go with anything. These were bought at retail from Farfetch.

Day 51, shoe 63: Brian Atwood Madi in brown suede and python
Have to admit these didn’t grab me straight away, but I slowly fell in love with them, and they’re probably one of my favourite pairs of Atwoods, despite not being the most versatile. The contrasting heel is such a unique feature to my closet, and the brown colours make it perfect with a neutral look. Despite my reservations, I bought these at retail from Netaporter.

Day 50, shoe 62: Ballin black suede peeptoe sandals
Ballin is a relatively new designer to my closet, and both have been bought on sale from Farfetch. I love the elegant simplicity of these, and they’re a good replacement for my Jimmy Choo Privates which my sister, Caitlynn, has inherited. They never ‘clicked’ with me somehow, but I did like the thick band style across the foot, so these are a worthy replacement.

Day 49, shoe 61: Christian Louboutin Very Prive 120 in black patent
Another day, another pair of black Louboutins, but the black against the lipstick red sole is such a classic combination. Out of my Louboutins, about 25-or-so are plain black, many of which are just simple pumps. Nude works well, too, for a classic look, but little beats black, particularly patent. These are one of the few pairs I have with no platform, they’re 120mm high so not massively high, either, and were bought at retail from Motcombe Street.

Day 49, shoe 60: Yves Saint Laurent Palais in tan suede
Like the Tribute, and Tribtoo, I can see myself getting this style in many different colours and finishes. It really is a beautiful shoe with a striking silhouette, but it’s also pretty timeless. These I got from Bluefly on sale. Not as much off as I’d like, but still worth every penny.

Day 48, shoe 59: Christian Louboutin Madame Butterfly 150 in black satin
These are wonderful shoes. They’re pretty high compared to a lot of my other Louboutins, but their ‘default’ height seems to have crept up-and-up over the last few seasons. They’re gorgeous though, elegant and sexy, and were snagged at retail when I visited Cruise in Edinburgh.

Day 48, shoe 58: Louboutin Bibi 140 in brown suede
Have been after a pair of these for ages. As I’ve said before I’m fussy with chunky heels but these are amazing. I loved the style but thought I’d wait until sale season. I really wanted in black, the colour I’d normally go for if I intend to only buy just one in a style, but they turned up on sale at Browns in brown (appropriately enough) which I loved too, so got instead.

Day 47, shoe 57: Acne Atacoma in grey leather
My only pair of Acnes, and a classic style. They’re great at their minimalist wedge boots, there’s a few styles I love from last season too. I went for grey as they’re neutral, a bit edgy and go well with a lot of looks, whether monochrome or more colourful. They were bought from Netaporter at retail.
